Dear Minimalists,
In May, it seemed that more of Crypto-Twitter was coming to terms with being in a bear market, and one could read the usual takes that we should focus on BUIDL and on creating value for users.
We've been doing that all along at Minima and are now putting the finishing touches on our Minima App. We are working hard on bringing back the MiniDapp system, which will enable you to do all sorts of things, from messaging to creating NFTs directly from your phone.
What else has happened at Minima in May, you might wonder? Read on to find our highlights.
Community Call #5
On May 5th, we welcomed our community to our 5th community call to discuss everything from freedom of speech to inflationary and deflationary token models and what our team has been up to.
Thanks to everyone joining us, and special thanks to our community member of the month: Kit. Unfortunately, he couldn't speak onstage during the call because of a lack of internet connection in the countryside he was in, but we'll make sure that you get to hear from him soon.
You can find a recording of the call here.
Minima in the Press
Sustainability
In May, we got several mentions in the press, including an article that our CMO wrote for CoinSpeaker. Blockchain sustainability — or better said its perceived lack thereof — continues to be one of the biggest criticism from mainstream media against blockchain.
We uncover why that might apply to a few of the existing blockchains, it might still be too simplistic to view all blockchains in the same way. How we believe sustainability can be achieved, and why it requires decentralization, read on Coinspeaker.
Web3
In an interview with FinchPR, our CMO Jonathan MacDonald lays out why Web3 requires decentralization, and why we won’t get there with DINO (decentralized in name only) infrastructure and philosophy. You can find it on Hackernoon.
Full nodes on mobile
Another topic that often comes up are mobile blockchains. However, most of them when digging deeper only put a light client on your phone, and not a full node.
Why that is, and how Minima does things differently in CryptoDaily.
Comment on Meta rolling out NFTs
As the UST, Luna debacle happened in the same week, this announcement might not have gotten a lot of traction, but the Web2 behemoth Meta has shared that they would integrate NFTs into Instagram, Facebook, and other apps.
Our CEO Hugo Feiler sees these types of moves critically, remarking that:
“Blockchain wasn’t meant to be leveraged by a few powerful parties to increase stickiness of their platforms and therefore ad revenue. It’s a technology that, when used right, empowers individuals, from artists to art lovers and anything in-between.”

Minima on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko
We’re excited to now be listed on the leading cryptocurrency data aggregator website CoinMarketCap. 🎊
Once the Minima token starts trading, you’ll be able to see all relevant information on the CoinMarketCap website. If you haven’t already, head to CoinMarketCap and add Minima to your watchlist to never miss any updates.
And just a few days later, Minima was also added to another tracking website: CoinGecko. Currently still in Preview, that will soon change with our Token Generation Event and subsequent exchange listings. Watch this space 👀.
Minima speaking in Stockholm
Our team had the honor of speaking about Web3 in Stockholm, at the biggest Tech meetup in Europe: STHLMTECH.
It was an absolute pleasure speaking with so many web3 enthusiasts, and those aspiring to understand the space. We hope we managed to drive home the point that we still have some way to go until we have a truly decentralized ecosystem.
Twitter Giveaway
To celebrate our listing on leading websites like CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko, we hosted a Twitter Giveaway awarding 20 Minimalists a price of 100 Minima Rewards.
A huge thanks to everyone who participated in the competition, and helped us share the word on Minima, and the need for decentralization. Winners will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
Thank you for being part of the Minima Community.
Your Minima Team.
