We’re taking an important step to help close the chapter on Wrapped Minima and move everyone fully over to Native Minima.
On the 27th August 2025, we’ll be running a snapshot of all Wrapped Minima holders. At 11:00 UTC, we’ll capture an accurate record of who holds Wrapped Minima, and how much they hold. This snapshot will act as the official reference point for the 1:1 swap into Native Minima, whether you choose to swap immediately, or at any point in the future.
It’s important to note: only the Wrapped Minima held at the time of the snapshot will qualify for the swap. Any Wrapped bought or traded after the snapshot will not be eligible. The reason for this is simple. We want to make sure all existing holders are protected and treated fairly, while bringing Wrapped trading to a close and focusing new buyers on Native Minima.
Why Native Minima Matters
Native Minima is the true Minima token. It’s the asset that lives directly on the Minima blockchain itself: fully decentralized, secure, and aligned with the project’s long-term vision. Unlike Wrapped Minima, which was a temporary bridge to allow early trading, Native Minima is the foundation of everything we’re building.
Holding Native Minima means:
- Direct utility on the Minima network: enabling participation, validation, and real usage.
- Security & authenticity: Native is maintained and supported by the Minima team, while Wrapped is no longer supported.
- Future-proofing: All integrations, use cases, and ecosystem growth will be built around Native Minima, not Wrapped.
Of the 125 million Wrapped Minima originally minted a huge majority, over 86 million, have already been swapped back into Native Minima. This shows clear momentum, and makes it more important than ever for the remaining Wrapped holders to complete the move. Simply put, Wrapped was a stepping stone, Native is the destination.
Next Steps
If you’re still holding Wrapped Minima, don’t worry! You’ll always have the ability to swap 1:1 at any time in the future using the official process. But we strongly encourage you to make the move sooner rather than later, and join the community already using and building with Native Minima today. This is an important milestone in cleaning up the ecosystem, creating clarity for new users, and ensuring everyone is aligned on the same future: a truly decentralized, user-powered blockchain.
