Community Member of the Month: Zach

Dear Minimalists,

Thanks to everyone who joined us on our last community call on January 18th. It was a pleasure hosting you.

We’re humbled to have a community of passionate Minimalists who advocate for more decentralization on various platforms. This month, our community member of the month is Zach. He’s been an outspoken advocate for us on LinkedIn and kept us on our toes with in-depth questions on the protocol.

Zach lives in the US and first came across Bitcoin back in 2011, but as a non-techy, he decided not to get involved. He vividly remembers standing in the kitchen with his finger hovering over the button to buy ten bitcoin for $900 in 2013 on a platform called Mt Gox. Ultimately, he didn’t, but he continued observing the direction in which the industry was moving.

He realized that many blockchains started competing for the wrong thing: speed of transactions and forgot the crucial element of blockchain — censorship-resistance and decentralization.

Coming from the manufacturing industry where people are used to building from scratch, he started brainstorming what a truly decentralized blockchain would look like and found Minima in the course of his research.

Since then, Zach has highlighted us in countless comments and stirred conversations in our channels with his inquisitive mind. Thank you!

You can hear more from him in this recording of our community call. And to follow what Zach’s up to, you can find him on LinkedIn and in our Minima Community Server as hotmodder.

The evolution will not be centralized, and every community member is helping us make that happen

We will highlight a community member of the month, every month, to celebrate and thank you for your involvement in the project.
